What is a Vascular Surgeon?
Surgeons specializing in vascular surgery provide comprehensive care to patients with vascular disease. They have significant experience with all aspects of treating patients with vascular disease, including diagnosis, medical treatment, and reconstructive surgical and endovascular techniques.
Why Should I See an IHA Vascular Specialist?
Many of these conditions can be either treated medically, with minimally-invasive (endovascular) techniques, or with traditional surgery. The IHA vascular specialists have comprehensive training in all of these modalities of vascular care. We optimize medical management in all patients, provide minimally-invasive/endovascular treatment when appropriate, and consider open surgical procedures when needed. Our strength is to consider all treatment options and to provide the best clinical judgment for each individual patient.
IN PREPARATION FOR YOUR FIRST APPOINTMENT:
In most cases, your first appointment will be a consultation with a physician. This consultation requires a careful review of your medical history to ensure that you get the best medical care possible. Because this is so important, we try to have all of your pertinent medical records and X-rays available for the doctor to review.
- A list of all of your current medications (or actual bottles)
- Any necessary letters, reports or X-rays
- A list of questions that you might have
It is also a good idea to call the office in advance to make sure that your medical records and tests sent from other doctors have arrived.
