Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery is a subspecialty of obstetrics and gynecology that focuses specifically on disorders of the pelvic floor, such as organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, fecal incontinence or pelvic pain. The disorders are treated through a combination of lifestyle changes, medical and surgical treatment. Obstetrician/gynecologists and urologists undergo additional fellowship training in this subspecialty.
